I don’t think I’ve ever been as excited about the future as I am this new year.

I just can’t stop thinking about all the wonderful things that are going to happen that I am eternally grateful for.

As I was telling myself that this inaugural post to my blog needed to be monumental I really got to reflecting on the future. Yes, the future!

Most other New Year’s for me have been a time of reflection on the past. What didn’t happen, how much older I was, opportunities that got away, people and relationships that I no longer had in my life, and other mundane thoughts. I don’t generally allow myself such negative thinking, but this time of year I always found myself a bit down.

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions – I do Life Resolutions - and I’ve been making a bunch of those in the last couple of months.

The biggest one, and the one that I think is the fundamental reason for my shift of good fortune, is to remind myself – often – of all I have to be grateful for. It’s gotten to the point now, that I think hardly an hour goes by that I’m not doing this. At first I almost had to remind myself to do it, but it’s now second nature. I can feel myself smiling all the time, even now as I’m typing this I’ve got a huge grin on my face.

So, I say – greet 2007 with a big old hug and remember – YOU are the creator of your own universe!
